The approach
Gestalt: becoming aware of the whole.
Gestalt is a German word for a whole form or pattern. Gestalt psychotherapy is a humanistic, relational approach. It helps you understand how you shape your experience and how you might live more freely and fully.

Key principles
- 01
Here and now
We may talk about the past or worry about the future. Either way, we keep coming back to what you are experiencing in this moment, in your body, your feelings and the room between us.
- 02
Awareness
Change comes through noticing more clearly how you live, feel and relate. Awareness opens up choices that may not have seemed possible before.
- 03
The whole person
Thoughts, emotions, sensations, behaviour and relationships are all connected. We pay attention to all of them, not just the "problem".
- 04
Relationship
The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work. It is a real, honest meeting where you can try new ways of being with another person.
- 05
Experiment
Sometimes I may invite you to try something: to speak to an empty chair, notice your breath, or say a sentence aloud. You can always say no.
